
Programs Overview
1. Family support services that consist of family literacy and parenting classes, support groups, service coordination, home visiting and in-home intervention. Services are free and child care and transportation are provided.
2. Referral services for parents to find licensed child care with special programs for teen parents, parents of children with special needs, and parents transitioning from public assistance to work.
3. Continuing education for child care providers that covers a broad range of topics, such as fostering early literacy, supporting families and celebrating diversity. Training is engaging, affordable and convenient.
The Resource Center is committed to empowering families so they can reach their goals. Families are actively involved in the design and implementation of all services. These core commitments, dedication and hard work have yielded the following outcomes in recent years:
- 93% of parents who participate in our Family Support Center improve their literacy skills and 91% of children improve their cognitive and language abilities.
- 90% of child care providers rate Community Programs workshops as excellent and say they plan to use information gained in workshops to improve their early childhood programs.
- 98% of children in our Healthy Families Program reach developmental milestones as indicated by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- 85% of teen parents receiving our LOCATE child care referral services stay in school.
