After nearly a year of planning, our 1st Family Festival was a success. We know we could not have done it without you and greatly appreciate your contribution.
Can you believe we had 1,287 people attend? It’s pretty amazing considering that ill-timed morning thunderstorm. Children of all ages had a great time participating in so many activities. It was fun to watch them admiring their painted faces in the mirror (thank you Debbie Wood for that stroke of genius), roller-skating for the first time, scaling the climbing wall, and marveling at themselves on-screen as a news reporter. We had star quality stage entertainment from local schools and performance groups, but no one could top County Executive Rushern Baker showing his dance moves for the crowd. We couldn’t help but notice that once families arrived, they stayed!
If you were unable to attend the event yourself, click here to see the program to get a sense of the flavor of the event. A special thanks to our sponsors on page 3 – Avis and Gregory Dyson, Jeffery Gural, the Hoffman-Fensterheim Family, M&T Bank, Pepco, Prince George’s County Infants & Toddlers Program, and the Star/Gazette Newspapers. Be sure to peruse the program ads as well.
Looking back, we hope that you feel as we do – it was worth all the hard work. We can’t think of a more fitting celebration for our twentieth anniversary. We are committed to creating healthy and nurturing environments for children by supporting their families and educating their caregivers, so providing a fun venue for families to enjoy each other is right up our alley.
So thank you again for all you did for us. We really could not have done this without you.
