Awarded Outstanding Human Service Organization

 

The Human Service Coalition of Prince George’s County recognized the Prince George’s Child Resource Center as the Outstanding Human Service Organization for 2009. Cited for “not only the high quality services offered to the community, but its willingness to seek and constantly find ways to improve internally,†Resource Center staff and board members received the award yesterday at the Prince George’s Ballroom. Executive Director Marti Worshtil says, “being recognized by your peers is the highest honor and we are very grateful that the work we do on behalf of Prince George’s families is valued.Ââ€

 

The 18 year old nonprofit operates LOCATE: Child Care referral service, the Adelphi/Langley Park Family Support Center, Healthy Families Prince George’s and an extensive training and technical assistance program for child care providers.

 

Prince George’s Child Resource Center helps create healthy and nurturing environments for children by supporting their families and educating their caregivers. Each year the Resource Center provides family support services to over 5,000 families and training to over 4,500 child care providers, parents and human services workers touching the lives of nearly half a million children since 1990.
