Dr. Susanna McPhilomy, originally from Armenia, has an extensive educational and professional background. She has a Teaching Certificate from Surrey University, Great Britain, two master’s degrees: Romance Germanic Languages and Literature from the State University of Yerevan, Armenia, Teaching English as a Second Language from Brigham Young University in Utah, and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership/Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix, Arizona.
She is a co-founder of two language schools (Utah and Virginia) and joined the PGCC and PGCRC team in 2022 as a full time Adult Education Instructor. She has invested almost 50 years in teaching and is passionate about her work and students’ success. Her efforts have been recognized by the honorable Steven Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Award from the Kennedy Center in 2017 exemplifying her motivational role in her learners’ educational journey.
She has taught English in different countries and US states. She is fluent in 3 languages, including Armenian and Russian. Dr. Susie’s advice to her students is: “You are masters of your educational destiny. Fortune favors the brave! If somebody can do it, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!”
