Training Practices and Policies

We are here to support you through every stage of your provider journey.

Learn more about our training practices and policies in support of your professional development needs. All workshops are open to the public and are approved by the Office of Child Care. Training certificates are issued for all workshops.

Policies

  • All workshops are open to the public, unless otherwise stated.
  • We accept checks, credit cards, and money orders. We do not accept cash.
  • There are no refunds unless CRC cancels a workshop. Transfers are granted only when requests are received the day BEFORE the workshop. There will be a $5 fee assessed if you transfer the day of the workshop.
  • You will be notified of any pertinent workshop updates and/or cancellations via email. Please check your email daily in the week leading up to your workshop to view any reminders or changes.
  • Child Resource Connects follows the Prince George’s County Public Schools for weather-related closings, delays, and cancellation of workshops. Virtual workshops will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Workshop confirmations are sent via email. We also do not mail physical copies of confirmations or certificates. Because most of our documents are emailed, you are welcome and encouraged to print them at your own convenience.
  • Please plan to arrive/log onto Zoom 15 minutes early for each workshop to allow time for check-in. The door/Zoom meeting is locked after the workshop begins, and you will not receive a certificate, refund, or transfer for the workshop if you arrive late.
  • Please note that missed trainings will not qualify for a refund. This includes arriving late or leaving early.
  • We love children, but only adults will be admitted to workshops. If you arrive at a workshop with children, we will ask you to leave and register for a future workshop when you can attend alone.
  • As a courtesy to workshop presenters and fellow participants, cell phones must be turned off or on vibrate while class is in session.
  • Attendance at training is not a guarantee that a certificate will be given. Certificates are only awarded to those participants who: are present for the whole class, fully participate in the class, pass the assessment with an 80% or higher, and complete the evaluation for the training.
  • Assessments are usually written but may be embedded in class participation activities.
  • We are happy to offer technical assistance without charge to any participant who does not pass the assessment. Please contact us to request this assistance.

FAQ

I can’t figure out how to register for a workshop. What should I do?

Call the Training Registrar, Aleace Douglas, at 410-991-9447 or email us at training@childresource.org

Where is my workshop confirmation?

Workshop confirmations are automatically emailed at the time of registration from our registration system. Look for an email from an email address that contains the word “imperisoft.”

When and how will I get my certificate?

Certificates will be provided within 14 business days of the completion of all required training materials.

Virtual workshop certificates will be emailed from training@childresource.org

In-person workshop certificates are usually physically distributed at the completion of the training, however, different types of workshops require different procedures, and you will be notified during your class how you will be receiving your certificate.

It’s been 14 business days since I completed my training, and I haven’t received my certificate. What do I do?

Check your Spam, Promotions, and Junk folders in your email platform. If it’s not there, please email training@childresource.org

I can't find my certificate. Can I get another copy?

For a class that was completed within the last seven years, we can provide a copy for a $5 fee. For a class that took place beyond seven years, we are unable to provide a duplicate. However, you can always register for the class again!

Why am I not getting emails from Child Resource Connect?

Depending on which email platform you use such as gmail/yahoo/hotmail/msn, etc. There may be automatic filters set up that have incorrectly configured our messages as “spam” or “promotions” or “junk.”

Please add the email address training@childresource.org to your contacts list in your email platform and this will make sure our messages come right to your inbox.
