Alyson was born and raised under the Northern Lights of the Red River Valley in North Dakota and expected to live there forever. After living in Taiwan and El Salvador with her own family for several years, her worldview expanded. While in El Salvador, she earned a Master’s Degree in Education, and assisted community development and relief projects as a result of natural disasters. After moving to Maryland in 2008, she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2012. Alyson has experience in child welfare, children and family development, trauma based treatment, and infant and early childhood mental health. In 2013, she started at Child Resource Connect as an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant and in 2015 became the Director of Healthy Families Prince George’s. With the addition of Family Connects Prince George’s in 2019, Alyson is now the Director of Home Visiting Services.
One of Alyson’s greatest joys is seeing staff grow confidently into their family support roles and realizing the powerful impact they make when they uncover the story behind their program data. She finds it inspiring to watch these moments of clarity turn into renewed purpose. Another highlight is witnessing the incredible teamwork at CRC—staff lifting each other up and working together to achieve the organization’s mission. These moments remind Alyson that every effort matters and that collective dedication creates lasting change.
When she was five years old, she really loved playing on her grandparent’s farm and thought she’d grow up as a cowgirl on a ranch.
