Sheila is a rare native Washingtonian who joined Child Resource Connect in 2019 as the Special Programs Coordinator, after working at the Maryland State Department of Education as a Quality Assurance Specialist with Maryland EXCELS. She connected with CRC as a consultant overseeing Prince George’s County Early Childhood Special Education grant.
In June 2020, at the height of the pandemic, Sheila assumed the role of Director of Special Programs overseeing CRC’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Support Services Project WIN program and Judy Center Early Learning Hubs partnership. Sheila has a BS in Psychology, a M.Ed. in Special Education, and an Ed.S. in Special Education and has worked for many years in child care, including as a center director.
Sheila is currently leading the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Support Services team serving 5 counties (Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, St. Mary’s, Calvert, and Charles), and is a vital thought partner in supporting mental health initiatives for Maryland’s youngest in her daily work partnering with caregivers, center staff, and Prince George’s County Public schools.
