Parenting Workshops Available
Do you live in or near a TNI Neighborhood?  The Transforming Neighborhood Initiative includes Kentland/Palmer Park, Langley Park, East Riverdale/Bladensburg, Suitland/Coral Hills, Glassmanor/Oxon HIll, and Hillcrest Heights/Marlow Heights.  Project LAUNCH is able to provide a free 6 module parent workshop for your center.  Call 301.772.8420 ext 1010 if you are interested.

Got Challenging Behaviors?
Project LAUNCH and Project WIN are here to help.  Project LAUNCH is looking for 2-4 new centers in or around the TNI neighborhoods to participate in a long-term consultation program. Enjoy the benefits of your personal on-site early childhood consultant to help with understanding the challenging behaviors in the classroom and identifying strategies and tools to help reduce the behaviors.

Don’t live in a TNI neighborhood?  PGCRC staff are available for parent information sessions, back to school nights, resources for parents, parenting strategies for children with special needs, etc.

All Aboard!  Developmental Screening Overview and Including All Children and the Americans with Disabilities Act
PGCRC is offering the these new mandatory workshops frequently as a part of our regular training schedule.  Please check the online training calendar for specific dates.  Want all of your staff trained at the same time?  We will do onsite workshops for programs that have 10 or more staff attending the workshop.  Don’t have ten staff?  Consider partnering with a neighboring program.

Medication Administration Training
PGCRC is offering this training monthly.  This is a new requirement for family child care providers. Center staff also need this training.

Director’s Coffee Hour resumes on September 2.  We hope to see you there!

Do you have training ideas that you don’t see on our calendar?  Please contact us and let us know what kind of classes you would like.

Check out our resource room.  We have laminators, Cricut cutting machine and die cutters to help you with your classroom decorations.  Explore the recommended curricula, developmental screening tools, and teacher resources.  PGCRC members receive special prices on laminating and waxing.

Helpful Resources for Teachers and Parents
www.wegivebooks.org is a website where parents and providers can get access to free books online for children to read on a computer.  The website organizes the books by age range, authors and genre so that it will be easy to find books that reinforce children’s learning, interests and the classroom themes.
